This is the third brass step-up ring I've owned and it’s the first one that doesn’t feel like it’ll bind on the filter thread. The knurling is deep enough to get a solid grip even with cold fingers, and it threaded onto my 62mm lens perfectly. Solid, precise, and worth the extra cost over aluminum.
